MotoGP has secured a new US media rights deal with Warner Bros Discovery (WBD)-owned TNT Sports.

Contract:

  • TruTV and Max’s B/R Sports Add-On will show every race of the 2024 season live
  • The latter will also stream every session across all MotoGP classes

Context:

TNT Sports takes over the US media rights from NBC, which signed a multi-year deal to broadcast the global motorcycling series in 2020. This means that WBD now controls the media rights for MotoGP in the influential markets of both the US and the UK.

This is the latest step in MotoGP’s US expansion plans, with US-based Trackhouse Racing having joined the grid ahead of this season and discussions around a second US race taking place.

Comment:

“MotoGP is the most exciting racing in the world,” said Dan Rossomondo, chief commercial officer of MotoGP’s commercial rights holder Dorna. “We are thrilled that our riders and teams will be showcased by Warner Bros Discovery.

“This major step for MotoGP in the US will be embraced by our loyal fans and attract a new audience who will quickly fall in love with our sport.”

Coming next:

The 2024 MotoGP season gets underway this weekend, as Lusail International Circuit in Qatar hosts the opening race weekend from 8th to 10th March.
