MotoGP has agreed a sub-licensing deal with DAZN that will see races made available on free-to-air (FTA) Spanish broadcaster Atresmedia TV.

Contract:

  • The Spanish, Catalan and Valencia GPs will be available FTA in Spain until 2025
  • LaSexta will broadcast all three races live, while Mega will provide coverage of qualifying and sprint sessions

Context:

MotoGP agreed a five-year contract extension with DAZN back in 2022, keeping the series’ exclusive rights behind a paywall until 2027. However, the global motorcycling series has adopted a strategy to ensure fans can still easily access their home races. This latest sub-licensing pact follows similar deals in major markets, including ITV in the UK, DF1 in Germany and Ten in Australia.

There are four Spanish races during the MotoGP season, so the Aragon Grand Prix has been left out of the deal. BlackBook Motorsport understands there was no underlying reason for this move. The available home races for Spanish fans will be the Spanish Grand Prix on 28th April, the Catalan Grand Prix on 26th May, and the Valencia Grand Prix on 17th November.
