F1 agrees regional partnership with American Express in the Americas

Multi-year deal sees US-based company become official payments provider in region, plus Las Vegas Grand Prix and F1 Academy.

Formula One has signed a multi-year regional partnership with American Express.

Confirmed:

  • US corporation to become official payments partner of Formula One in the Americas
  • Partnership incorporates the Las Vegas Grand Prix
  • American Express will also support the all-female F1 Academy series

Context:

This partnership sees American Express expand into a new sports category for the first time in over a decade. With races in Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Miami, and Montreal, a quarter of the Formula One season now takes place across the Americas.

While the US-based company has previously agreed partnerships in sports like soccer, basketball, tennis and golf, this is American Express’ first multi-market sports partnership.
