Formula One will be shown exclusively by streaming platform DAZN in Portugal from 2025.

Contract:

  • Media rights deal is for at least three years
  • Coverage includes the feeder series – Formula Two, Formula Three, and F1 Academy – as well as the Porsche Supercup

Context:

The streaming platform will replace Sport TV as the exclusive home of Formula One in Portugal next season. The broadcaster is currently in the final year of a three-year deal.

Sport TV originally replaced Eleven Sports in 2022, which was then acquired by DAZN later that year in a move allowing the company to offer premium localised services in new markets, enabling this Portuguese distribution.

Comment:

Jorge Pavão de Sousa, general director of DAZN Portugal, said: “We want to continue the growth of motorsport in Portugal and, above all, continue to value our product for sports fans.

“The upcoming Formula One seasons promise to bring many new features that will have an impact on the competition. Adding the world’s biggest motorsport competition to the best football in Europe is another important step for DAZN to be the reference in sports entertainment with the best content portfolio in Portugal.”

Coming next:

Formula One returns for its next race at Imola Circuit with the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix from 17th to 19th May.
