McLaren Racing and NTT Data have expanded their existing partnership to include the F1 Academy team.

Contract:

  • Expanded deal gets underway from this weekend’s race in Zandvoort
  • The NTT Data logo will be carried on Bianca Bustamante’s car for the remainder of 2024 and beyond

Context:

McLaren Racing has partnered with the Japanese information technology firm since 2023 through the Arrow McLaren outfit in IndyCar. NTT Data has served as the team’s official IT services partner during that time, and this collaboration even expanded into Formula One for the final six races of last season on a short-term deal.

NTT Data follows Cisco in offering support to the Woking-based team’s F1 Academy entry, which follows the synergies the two brands have outside of motorsport. The technology companies have worked together for over 30 years, so a close association through the all-female support series represents a continuation of this collaboration.

Comment:

Matt Dennington, co-chief commercial officer of McLaren Racing, said: “We are delighted to further develop our partnership with NTT Data into the world of F1 Academy – a relationship which has gone from strength to strength with our Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team.

“We’re proud to work closely with our partners to continue to open up motorsport to female drivers, and we are pleased to have NTT Data join us on this journey.”

Coming next:

After more than two months without a race, F1 Academy returns for its fourth event of the season in support of Formula One’s Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort from 23rd to 25th August.
