McLaren expands NTT Data partnership into F1

IndyCar partnership to receive visibility in Formula One for remaining six races of 2023.

McLaren Racing has expanded its NTT Data partnership into Formula One for the remainder of the season.

  • Branding to feature on the McLaren cars from the Qatar Grand Prix until the end of the season
  • This agreement will form part of the existing partnership in IndyCar

The digital business and IT services leader has been partnered with Arrow McLaren, the team’s IndyCar outfit, since 2022. McLaren lured the Japan-based technology firm to the team after eight years sponsoring rivals Chip Ganassi Racing. Having been lead sponsor on Alex Palou’s car, it was expected the Spaniard would follow his long-time sponsor to Arrow McLaren, but the Spaniard reneged on the agreement to remain at Chip Ganassi.

McLaren Racing told BlackBook Motorsport: ‘We originally discussed the two US races [for branding opportunities], as this is NTT’s key market, but we mutually agreed to run the branding for the remaining races of the F1 season.’

Coming next:

This agreement means that NTT Data branding will be carried on the McLaren cars for six races, starting with this weekend’s Qatar Grand Prix from 6th to 8th October.
