Ford has agreed an extension to its title sponsorship of Red Bull’s F1 Academy programme for 2025.
Contract:
- Ford branding will continue to feature heavily on the car and driver overalls
- American driver Chloe Chambers will drive for the team in the 2025 F1 Academy season
Context:
After agreeing a technical deal with the Red Bull Formula One team in February 2023, which won’t come into effect until the start of the 2026 season under the new engine regulations, Ford has been preparing for life with the Milton Keynes-based team by supporting their F1 Academy programme.
As a sign of Ford’s commitment to promoting opportunities for women in motorsport, Chambers will be driving in the final round of the IMSA Mustang Challenge 2024, taking place at the SRO Indianapolis 8 Hour this weekend.
Comment:
Christian Horner, chief executive and team principal of Red Bull Racing, said: “Continuing our partnership with Ford as a title sponsor of the Red Bull Academy Programme is hugely exciting and further cements their commitment to female participation in motorsports.
“Everyone at the team is looking forward to welcoming Chloe to the Red Bull family where she is a key part of our line-up for the 2025 F1 Academy season.
“Welcoming an American driver that has previously been linked to Ford, marks an exciting progression in our partnership with Ford Performance. Red Bull and Ford share common values and are united in providing more opportunities for young and emerging talent in motorsports, and we can’t wait to see Chloe hit the track in Red Bull Ford colours in 2025.”
Coming next:
There are just two rounds left in the 2024 F1 Academy season, with it appearing to be a matter of time before Alpine junior Abbi Pulling is confirmed as champion. The penultimate round takes place at Lusail International Circuit from 29th November to 1st December.
