Extreme E will continue to be broadcast in Ireland with Virgin Media following a two-year contract extension.

Confirmed:

  • Extreme E will air on VMTV, along with a variety of highlights shows
  • Extends broadcast relationship that began in 2021, Extreme E’s debut season

Context:

This contract extension follows the news that the all-electric off-road SUV championship will pivot to hydrogen from 2025. While the branding will shift to Extreme H, little else will change for a series striving to raise awareness of places affected by climate change and provide a technological testbed for future technologies.

Comment:

Ali Russell, managing director of Extreme E, said: “We are already into our fourth instalment of Extreme E and are thrilled to have Virgin Media Television extend their association with our championship.

“Extreme E and Virgin Media Television have worked together to provide Irish viewers with an action-packed, entertaining racing product from across the globe and it is great news that we will be continuing our journey together.”

Coming next:

The final Extreme E season will start from 17th to 18th February in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
