Extreme E has agreed a multi-year extension with Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) across Europe.
Contract:
- Electric off-road series will be broadcast live and on-demand on Eurosport, with streaming on Max and Discovery+
- Agreement will see Extreme E continue to be screened in over 50 territories across Europe
Context:
This represents Extreme E’s most expansive broadcast deal, with the series sitting alongside other major motorsport properties on Eurosport like the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and Formula E. Commentary will also be available in the local languages for live race action, highlights shows and on-demand access.
Comment:
Ali Russell, managing director of Extreme E, said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with one of the world’s most recognised sports broadcasters, Eurosport. Their global reach has allowed us to highlight key climate issues at our race locations alongside the exciting racing action.
“This new multi-year deal will cement our ability to showcase our unique gender-equal talented driver line-ups within our teams, as well as green technology and our sustainability efforts to an engaged audience. As we sit in Eurosport’s sustainable motorsport portfolio, we can also continue the effort in promoting green mobility, which is the future.”
Coming next:
This European broadcast extension comes ahead of the European round of Extreme E on 13th and 14th July, although there is currently no venue decided.
