Aston Martin F1 team achieve ISO standard 50001

The Aston Martin Formula One team have achieved the ISO standard 50001.

Confirmed:

  • Aston Martin are the first First Formula One team to be recognised for the certification
  • The team’s goal for ISO 50001 is to improve energy performance, increase energy efficiency, and reduce energy consumption and associated costs

Context:

ISO 50001 is a globally recognised certification that outlines the requirements for implementing an energy management system. It offers organisations a framework to enhance energy performance.

Aston Martin were the fifth team to be recognised with the International Automobile Federation’s (FIA) three-star environmental accreditation back in October 2022.

Comment:

Ben Fitzgerald, operations director of Aston Martin, said: “This is another example of Aston Martin Aramco making a positive difference for the future and changing the perceptions of our industry and aligns with the FIA’s Environmental Strategy 2020-2030.

“Committing to sustainability and implementing initiatives is an important step towards the evolution of the motorsport industry and protecting the planet.”
