WRC signs two-year partnership with FuelsEurope

Focus on promoting rally championship's 100% sustainable fuels.

WRC Promoter, global promoter of the World Rally Championship (WRC), has agreed a two-year partnership with FuelsEurope.

Contract:

  • Two parties to collaborate on promotion and awareness around the series’ renewable fuels
  • FuelsEurope’s ‘Clean Fuels for All’ campaign to be present at all European WRC rounds

Context: The ‘Clean Fuels for All’ campaign explains the origin, the role and the potential of sustainable fuels in achieving the European Union climate neutrality targets by 2050. WRC first switched to its renewable fuels at the beginning of the 2022 season, made up of liquid synthetic hydrocarbons that are produced from converting alcohols into synthetic hydrocarbons.

Comment: Jona Siebel, managing director of WRC Promoter, said: “We are excited to announce this partnership, which highlights the WRC’s leadership in the transition to sustainable fuels and our dedication to sustainability and innovation in the motorsport industry. This collaboration showcases the value of our efforts to become a leader in the field of sustainable mobility, and we are eager to continue driving positive change in the industry.”

Coming next: WRC’s next European event takes place in Portugal this weekend from 11th to 14th May. The series still has to visit Italy, Estonia, Finland, and Greece, as well as the first co-hosted event between Germany, Austria and Czech Republic, before the end of the season.
