Supercars overhauls fan experience with launch of new app

Project in development for over two years and saw ‘multi-million dollar’ investment from Supercars.

Australia-based Supercars Championship has overhauled its fan experience with the launch of a new app.

Confirmed:

  • App developed in collaboration with Australian interactive agency Tribal DDB
  • Available on Android and iOS, the app will offer a tailored experience to users
  • Project in development for over two years and saw a ‘multi-million dollar’ investment from Supercars

Context:

The new app offers features including live timing, real-time commentary, personalised news updates, exclusive partner offers, and a range of other elements that promise to enhance the race weekend experience. This development follows the recent overhaul of the series’ website.

Comment:

Shane Howard, chief executive of Supercars, said: “The new-look app positions Supercars digital offering as a modern, world class sporting league. It’s long been our ambition to invest in our digital platform to ensure relevancy and engagement in a world where fans are demanding more at their fingertips than ever before.”

Coming next:

The app sees its launch in time for next week’s 60th anniversary of the Bathurst 1000, taking place from 5th to 8th October.
