MXGP agrees Dunlop extension

Three-year deal agreed for continuation of official tyre partnership.

Infront Moto Racing, rights holder of the Motocross World Championship (MXGP), has signed a three-year extension of its official tyre partner agreement with Dunlop.

Confirmed:

  • Partnership to continue serving as a testing ground for Dunlop’s latest products
  • Goodyear-owned brand will remain a visibile trackside presence

Context: Teams in MXGP have a free choice of tyres, so there is no exclusive rights as part of Dunlop’s deal, but a host of teams, including Kawasaki Racing Team, Standing Construct Honda and Husqvarna Nestaan MX2, utilise the company’s offering in the series.

Comment: David Luongo, chief executive of Infront Moto Racing, said: “Dunlop is a historical partner of MXGP and we are very happy to announce that it will continue for three more years. The MXGP World Championship is a fantastic laboratory to continue to develop new technology for the tyres thanks to the diversity of its track, from sand to hard ground soil. I would like to thank Dunlop for their trust and collaboration and I am sure we will continue growing this fruitful partnership.”

Coming next: The next round of the 2023 MXGP season takes place this weekend in Villars-sous-Écot, France, on 21st May.
