World RX secures Hoosier tyre supply from 2024

Continental subsidiary agrees three-year partnership to supply all rallycross categories.

World Rallycross (World RX) has agreed a tyre supply deal with Continental-owned Hoosier.

Confirmed:

  • US brand to supply World RX, RX2e, Euro RX1 and Euro RX3 on three-year deal
  • Hoosier replaces long-term partner Cooper Tire Europe

Context:

Hoosier claims to be the largest race tyre manufacturer in the world, currently producing more than 1,000 different types of racing and high-performance tyres. Cooper Tire Europe had been a partner of World RX since the very first championship in 2014, with its most recent extension signed in 2020 covering the 2021, 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Comment:

Arne Dirks, managing director of Rallycross Promoter, said: “We are delighted to welcome Hoosier into the World RX family. We look forward to another successful relationship like we had with Cooper Tires, who I must thank for a fantastic decade together. From our interaction with them so far, it is very clear that Hoosier share the same mindset as we do, and I have absolutely no doubt they will prove to be an excellent partner.”

Coming next:

Next year will see the return of the internal combustion engine to World RX, having ran its two previous seasons with solely electric vehicles. Sustainable fuel will ensure the environment remains at the forefront of the series’ messaging.
