Williams Racing has agreed a data-focused partnership with US-based company Keeper Security.
Contract:
- Software company becomes Grove-based team’s official password security partner
- Branding will be visible on the front wing for the Miami Grand Prix to mark the new partnership
Context:
Williams Racing is seeing considerable success in the US market. With American owners in Dorilton, an American driver in Logan Sargeant, and an office based in New York to further its growth in the region, the British team’s strategy is paying off.
With the US Formula One races separated in the calendar, it also gives the team more opportunities to sell the series to interested parties. James Bower, commercial director of Williams Racing, told BlackBook Motorsport that “where Miami is [in the calendar] is very important, but when it is, for me, is as important”.
Comment:
Bower added: “Keeper joining us is something we’re very happy about and it also talks to the continued growth of F1 in North America. Keeper’s a global company, but it’s important that F1 has the traction that it has now in North America.
“With technology companies, you always have to have integration within the team and we’ll be working with Keeper Security throughout the organisation which is important as well. I think we’ll see some of their competitors come into the sport later as well. This will be the start of a trend of companies from that part of cybersecurity joining the sport.”
Coming next:
Keeper Security branding will be visible on the front wings of Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant’s cars at this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix, taking place from 3rd to 5th May.
