The World Endurance Championship (WEC) has confirmed an unchanged schedule for next season.

Confirmed:

  • Qatar and Bahrain will once again bookend the season
  • Four-year contract extension confirmed for Imola

Context:

The only threat to the status quo was the potential departure of Imola, as its contract with WEC expires at the end of this season. As part of this announcement, the circuit will remain as part of the series until 2028 after it committed to improving paddock infrastructure, which includes building extra pit garages.

This move was necessary due to the ever-expanding grid in the series, which will welcome Aston Martin from next season. The likes of Lamborghini, BMW and Alpine all joined at the start of this season, so there will be a minimum of 14 manufacturers competing in WEC in 2025.

Calendar:

Coming next:

After Ferrari claimed consecutive victories at last weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, WEC returns to action next month with the 6 Hours of São Paulo on 14th July.
