The World Endurance Championship (WEC) has agreed a one-year extension to its partnership with Avis Budget Group.

Contract:

  • Avis to be official vehicle rental services premium partner at all eight races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans
  • Avis Preferred members will benefit from access to ticket prize draws to WEC races throughout the 2024 season
  • Local Avis stations will provide vehicles for WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans employees staffing the events

Context:

Last season, the first year of this deal focused on promoting Avis’ electric and hybrid fleet as an option for fans to travel sustainably to each WEC event. This continues for a second year after Avis opted to renew its contract.

Comment:

Frédéric Lequien, chief executive of WEC, said: “Avis is a brand that shares many of the same qualities as the WEC: car sharing, safety, inclusivity and sustainability. We are, therefore, delighted that Avis has decided to renew its contract with the WEC as our premium partner for the 2024 season.

“Together we can deliver strong mobility solutions and we look forward to building on this partnership over the next 12 months.”

Coming next:

WEC returns for its second race of the season with the 6 Hours of Imola at Imola Circuit on 21st April.
