Veloce launches blockchain utility and governance token

VEXT platform developed in collaboration with MDRxTech.

Digital media racing network Veloce has launched VEXT, a blockchain utility and governance token, in collaboration with Web 3.0 developer MDRxTech.

  • VEXT will allow token holders to integrate within the Veloce ecosystem
  • Token to offer holders a 'tangible influence' on the direction of assets within the Veloce group, including teams, talent, leagues, and content
  • Transactions will be possible across games and live interactive sports features,
  • Veloce to reward engagement with tokens, early access to merchandise and real-world events

Context: The Veloce brand comprises Veloce Esports, the gaming and racing platform, and Veloce Racing, currently competing in the all-electric off-road Extreme E championship. The Veloce network has attracted 35 million subscribers and receives nearly one billion monthly views.

Comment: Rupert Svendsen-Cook, co-founder and chief executive at Veloce, said: “This is the most exciting thing we have ever done. As a business, we have the two key ingredients for Web 3.0: a globally engaged community and an incredible amount of utility. Our ultimate ambition is to become the first truly decentralised global sporting group.”

Coming next: Details on VEXT and its platform will be released in the coming weeks, with multiple partnerships and integrations to be announced ahead of the public pre-sale.
