Nascar’s Trackhouse Racing has agreed a one-year associate sponsorship deal with fast-food restaurant brand Wendy’s.

Confirmed:

  • Associate branding to feature in both the Cup Series and Xfinity Series
  • Deal includes primary sponsorship in two Cup Series events, starting with Shane van Gisbergen’s entry at Talladega Superspeedway

Context:

Wendy’s returns to Nascar sponsorship after its ill-fated deal with Noah Gragson, who was suspended mid-season last year. The fast-food chain will be going up against competitor McDonald’s in the stock car racing series, a long-standing partner of 23XI Racing.

Comment:

Van Gisbergen said: “Wendy’s is an iconic brand! It is really cool to move to the US and get to be a part of this partnership from the start.

“Between my racing schedule and my planned road trips to get to see as much of the United States as possible, I know when I’m looking for a bite to eat on the road, I’ll be making a pit stop at Wendy’s. Racing in Nascar is a dream, so it is really exciting to have a sponsor who is supporting that dream for me.”

Coming next:

The Daytona 500 will be Nascar’s traditional curtain-raiser on 18th February, after the preseason running of the Busch Light Clash on 4th February.
