SRX to join iRacing platform in 2024

Long-term partnership set to commence next year, although no date set for integration.

Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) will join the iRacing sim racing platform in 2024.

Confirmed:

  • Series agrees long-term partnership
  • iRacing is in the process of organising a trip to scan the SRX car
  • No date determined for the expected 2024 release

Context:

SRX becomes the latest series to partner with iRacing, with the sim racing platform already partnered with the likes of Nascar, IMSA, Rallycross and Supercars. Many of the series’ past and present tracks are already part of the platform, which will ensure a “quick and seamless integration”, according to iRacing president Tony Gardner.

Comment:

Don Hawk, chief executive of SRX, said: “We’ve heard the fans on social media, and we are thrilled that race fans will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of an SRX car in iRacing. We think that the SRX car, schedule, and race format will produce incredible action in the virtual world as in the real one, and the series should prove to be a popular addition to iRacing in 2024. We are excited for iRacers around the world to get to experience what we’ve built firsthand in the coming months!” .”

Coming next:

SRX’s switch from network TV to cable for 2023 resulted in a 56 per cent fall in viewership, down from one million to 436,000 per race. However, the series remains committed to growth and it is looking at establishing an international event, possibly in Qatar or Saudi Arabia, as early as the end of this year.
