The Sauber Formula One team have announced one-year partnerships with Claro and PicPay.

Contract:

  • PicPay’s branding will feature on the front wings, nose and halo of the Sauber cars through the 2025 season
  • Claro will be visible on the team’s car, driver racesuits, helmets and gloves

Context:

Despite being a rookie, the commercial appeal of Sauber’s Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto is already evident with these two Latin American-focused deals. PicPay is one of Brazil’s leading digital banks, while telecommunications provider Claro is well-known for its long-running support of Mexican driver Sergio Pérez who was left without a seat in Formula One at the end of last year.

Claro previously partnered with the Sauber outfit for the 2011 and 2012 seasons, coinciding with the two years that Pérez raced for the Swiss-based team. Bortoleto is now the sole Latin American representative on the Formula One grid, although this could change if Alpine reserve driver Franco Colapinto is elevated into a full-time seat during the season.

Comment:

Stefano Battiston, chief commercial officer of the Sauber Formula One team, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome PicPay into the Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber family. PicPay’s visionary approach and commitment to innovation align perfectly with our own values and ambitions.

“This partnership is particularly special, as it strengthens our connection with Brazil – a country with a proud motorsport heritage and incredibly passionate fans. Together with PicPay, we look forward to delivering exceptional experiences and celebrating memorable moments throughout this exciting season.”

He added: “We are delighted to welcome Claro back into our family, as they join Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber in 2025. Claro’s long-term commitment to innovation and their strong presence in motorsport make them a perfect match for our vision and ambitions.

“Together, we aim to enhance fan experiences and create new connections with Formula One audiences around the globe.”

Coming next:
