Nitro RX rebrands to Nitrocross for 2023/24 season

Ten-date schedule also announced, as well as plans to stream globally for free.

Nitro Rallycross (Nitro RX) has announced it is rebranding to Nitrocross for the 2023/24 season.

Confirmed:

  • Ten-event schedule announced for 2023/24 season, entirely in US and Canada
  • Season to be streamed free of charge through the Rumble streaming platform
  • Post-event highlights will also air in more than 160 countries worldwide

Context: Last season, the calendar expanded to include events around the world, including England, Sweden, Finland and Saudi Arabia, although the latter two were cancelled. With its rebranding to Nitrocross, the series deviates from its rallycross foundations but returns to its North American roots.

The series’ transition to free-to-air (FTA) streaming is another change in approach, with series promoter Thrill One Sports and Entertainment having previously focused on a US-focused rights deal with Peacock.

Comment: Travis Pastrana, founder of Nitrocross, said: “I love rallycross, with its action-packed sprint racing and door-to-door action. That core hasn’t changed. But we can’t be relegated to the rules historically in place for rallycross. The Nitro Circus full-send mentality is also a big part of our DNA. We wanted to make sure that attitude came through loud and clear.”

Coming next: The inaugural season of Nitrocross gets underway at MidAmerica Outdoors in Jay, Oklahoma, from 16th to 17th June.
