Nascar team Trackhouse Racing have secured a multi-year partnership with Anheuser-Busch.
Confirmed:
- Busch Light brand to sponsor Ross Chastain’s entry from 2024
- Length of the deal and financial terms hsve not disclosed
Context: The American brewer is deeply entrenched within Nascar culture, having been involved with the series for over 40 years. Its Busch Light brand is the official beer of Nascar, while the company has also been a long-time sponsor of the retiring Kevin Harvick. Anheuser-Busch began sponsoring Harvick in 2011 before switching to its Busch Light brand in 2016.
Comment: Justin Marks, founder of Trackhouse Racing, said: “Ross has already accomplished so much in his career and we’re so proud that an iconic brand like Busch Light sees his commitment not only to the sport, but to his fans. Being sponsored by the official beer of Nascar is such an honour and we can’t wait to see what Ross and Busch Light accomplish together in 2024 and beyond. It has been Trackhouse’s goal from day one to build something special and different. Something that resonates with the fans and partners in Nascar. For Busch Light to recognise this and commit to the vision is both humbling and inspiring as we continue to write a special chapter in the history of this sport.”
Consequence: This move partners Anheuser-Busch with an up-and-coming force in Nascar. Chastain made headlines at last season’s Xfinity 500 with a wall-ride that saw him secure five overtakes and a spot in the championship event on the final corner of the race. While this move has now been banned, the brewer will be hoping for similar headline-stealing moves from next season onwards.
