Nascar and Supercars extend broadcast deals with Sport1+

German pay-TV broadcaster agrees rights extensions with both series until 2024.

German pay-TV broadcaster Sport1+ has extended its broadcast deals with US stock car racing's Nascar and Australia-based Supercars series until 2024.

Contract:

  • Majority of Nascar races will be shown on Sport1+, with a selection of events sublicensed to Motorvision.TV streaming platform
  • Sport1+ will show all Australian Supercars events live or on repeat

Context: Both Nascar and Supercars have been shown on Sport1+ since 2020, with the Australian championship having select races broadcasted originally. The two-year extension sees the pay-TV channel retain its broad motorsport portfolio moving forwards, especially with the IndyCar series on the media company's Sport1 free-to-air (FTA) channel.

Coming next: Nascar is the first to return with its preseason Busch Light Clash event at the LA Coliseum on 5th February, before the start of its regular season with the Daytona 500 on 19th February. Supercars kicks off its season a month later on 10th March with a street race in Newcastle, New South Wales.
