Nascar star Denny Hamlin extends FedEx partnership

Driver also confirms multi-year extension with Joe Gibbs Racing.

Denny Hamlin has confirmed the continuation of his long-term partnership with FedEx for 2024.

Confirmed:

  • One-year extension inked with transportation and ecommerce business
  • Hamlin confirms multi-year deal to continue driving for Joe Gibbs Racing

Context:

Denny Hamlin has been partnered with FedEx since he made his debut with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2005. When the partnership extension with FedEx was announced, Hamlin had no agreement in place to continue driving in Nascar, which cast doubt over the successful, long-running partnership.

Coming next:

Hamlin’s position as co-owner of fellow Nascar team 23XI Racing caused considerable difficulties in securing his extension with Joe Gibbs Racing. Moving forward, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Hamlin eventually agree a deal to drive for his team, with the funds of Michael Jordan likely to help cover his considerable salary.
