Nascar has agreed a multi-year partnership with credit counselling company National Debt Relief.

Contract:

  • New York-based firm becomes the first debt relief partner of the stock car racing series
  • The deal includes prominent signage at events, Nascar-themed advertising in race telecasts, and ‘investments’ on Nascar’s digital platforms and radio broadcaster Motor Racing Network

Context:

This partnership builds on the initial deal that National Debt Relief agreed with the Chicago Street Race last month. The move to increase its involvement with Nascar comes at a time when household debt is increasing in the US, with a rise of US$184 billion in Q1 of this year.

Comment:

“Over the course of our 76-year history, Nascar has taken great pride in putting our fans first and consistently offering one of the most unique and fan-friendly experiences in all of sports,” said Michelle Byron, Nascar’s executive vice president and chief partnership and licensing officer.

“The approach in prioritising our fans aligns perfectly with the mentality of National Debt Relief, an organisation that tailors its support to fit the needs of consumers. Because of this, National Debt Relief is a perfect fit as an official partner of Nascar.”

Coming next:

After two weeks off, Nascar enters the final stretch of its regular season with the Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway on 11th August.
