MotoGP agrees Tissot title sponsorship for new sprint events

Contract renewal also covers offical timekeeper brief and sees Enea Bastianini become brand ambassador.

MotoGP has extended its long-standing partnership with Tissot, with the Swiss watchmaker becoming title sponsor of the new sprint format.

Confirmed:

  • Tissot to title sponsor all sprint events in 2023
  • Watchmaker renews its role as official timekeeper
  • MotoGP-licensed watch debuts to honour partnership
  • Ducati rider Enea Bastianini announced as brand ambassador

Context: The Swiss watchmaker first became official timekeeper for the global motorcycling series in 2001. It has also been title sponsor of the Portuguese Grand Prix since 2022.

Comment: Carmelo Ezpeleta, chief executive of Dorna Sports, said: “Tissot are one of our longest standing partners and we're proud they will remain so as we extend our agreement into this new era for MotoGP. With more racing than ever, the role of official timekeeper is even more important than ever! It's a pleasure to work with Tissot, and see the MotoGP watch and their new collection.”

Coming next: The next ‘Tissot Sprint’ will get underway in Argentina on 1st April, before the main Argentinean Grand Prix on 2nd April.
