MotoGP has expanded its multi-year global partnership with Estrella Galicia 0,0 to include the naming rights for the Spanish brand’s home Grand Prix.

Contract:

  • MotoGP race will be called the Gran Premio Estrella Galicia 0,0 de España
  • The brand will work with the City Council in Jerez to provide fan entertainment

Context:

At the start of this season, Estrella Galicia 0,0 became MotoGP’s second-ever global beer partner following the expiration of its previous deal with Singha. The Thai brand had held the position since 2014, although a unique contract clause means Singha retains a presence in MotoGP in Asia despite Estrella Galicia 0,0 coming on board as the ‘global’ partner.

This also means that all four Spanish races now have a title partner attached to them, with agreements already in place with Monster Energy, GoPro, and Motul for Catalonia, Aragón, and Valencia, respectively.

Comment:

Dan Rossomondo, chief commercial officer of Dorna Sports, said: “We are happy to expand our partnership with Estrella Galicia 0,0 and welcome them as title sponsor for the Spanish GP.

“The atmosphere is always special at this Grand Prix and adding even more fan events in the city is exactly what we want to see. This partnership creates a whole weekend experience for the hundreds of thousands of fans descending on Jerez.”

Coming next:

Estrella Galicia 0,0 agreed the deal just in time as Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto plays host to the next MotoGP outing, with the Spanish Grand Prix taking place from 26th to 28th April.
