MotoGP and Motul have renewed their long-standing collaboration which will see the partnership stretch beyond two decades.

Key details:

  • MotoGP and Motul to continue partnership until 2030
  • Five-year extension includes title sponsorship of races in Japan and Valencia

Context:

MotoGP and Motul have been partners for more than 15 years and the extended contract will see the lubricants company focus on boosting fan engagement. However, the new agreement includes one fewer race-specific partnership than the current deal. For 2025, Motul title sponsored the race in Assen, alongside its continuing agreements in Japan and Valencia.

Motul will also continue supporting the KTM Tech3 and Pramac Racing teams to maintain its on-track presence – an increasingly important area given rising competition from rival brands in the series. In October, Liqui Moly agreed an extended four-year deal as an official partner of MotoGP, while Repsol became the exclusive lubricant supplier for the Moto2 and Moto3 championships.

Comment:

“We’re happy to continue working with Motul,” said Dan Rossomondo, chief commercial officer of MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports.

“They are a longstanding partner and bring more than sponsorship to the sport – together we’ve created exciting fan events, focused campaigns, and launched some innovative products.

“Grands Prix like the season finale in Valencia, with Motul as title sponsor, are a blueprint for what we want to see going forward – a weekend full of different activities that leaves no doubt Valencia was the place to be. We look forward to another step in this partnership and working with Motul to spread MotoGP broadly.”

Andreea Culcea, chief brand and communication officer of Motul, added: “The renewal of our partnership with MotoGP demonstrates our long-term commitment to competition and innovation.

“Being part of the world’s premier motorcycle racing championship allows us to embody what it means to be a co-creator of performance working alongside the very best to continually push the limits of technology and passion.”
