McLaren Racing is expanding and extending its existing partnership with sportswear brand Castore to include all of its race operations across Formula One, IndyCar, Formula E and Extreme E.
- McLaren originally signed a multi-year deal starting in 2022
- The Extreme E, Formula E and IndyCar teams will be included from the 2024 season
Context: Castore took over McLaren's merchandising programme in Formula One from the start of the 2022 season, having launched a clothing collection with McLaren Automotive in 2020. In April of last year, this deal was expanded to include the IndyCar team, although this was not a comprehensive teamwear package. Now, as part of this contract extension, the Extreme E, Formula E and IndyCar teams will receive full team apparel and fanwear from the start of the 2024 season.
Comment: Lindsey Eckhouse, director of licensing and digital products at McLaren Racing, said: “We are thrilled to scale up and extend our relationship with Castore. The response to our team kit and fanwear has been hugely positive, and Castore has embraced our bold McLaren identity through great collaboration and ambition.”
Coming next: While the Formula E and Extreme E teams will need to wait until next season, the partnership will be on show for the first time on the same weekend across Formula One and IndyCar. The Bahrain Grand Prix and the Grand Prix of St Petersburg both kick off their respective seasons on 5th March.
