McLaren Racing has agreed a technical partnership with equipment manufacturer Alpinestars.
Confirmed:
- Supply contract covers Formula One, IndyCar, Formula E, Extreme E, and F1 Academy
- Alpinestars becomes the team’s official partner for technical clothing
Context:
It seemed only a matter of time before this Alpinestars deal would be officially confirmed after driver Oscar Piastri wore an unbranded suit from the manufacturer during end-of-season Formula One testing in 2023, while the company was already partnered with the Formula E team. This new arrangement brings to a close a 27-year relationship between McLaren and Sparco.
Comment:
Matt Dennington, executive director for partnerships and accelerator, McLaren Racing, said: “With Alpinestars as our new official partner for technical clothing, we’re excited to bring a new look across our McLaren Racing teams this 2024 season. We’re proud to outfit our drivers and crew members in their advanced technical gear.”
Coming next:
Alpinestars will make its competitive debut with McLaren Racing at this weekend’s season-opening Formula E race in Mexico City on 13th January.
