IndyCar has finalised a multi-year media rights deal with Fox Sports beginning in 2025.

All races next season will air on the main Fox channel, providing unprecedented visibility for the open-wheel series. Fox Deportes will carry the series’ Spanish-language coverage.

With qualification for the Indianapolis 500 included on the main channel, it means 19 IndyCar events will be broadcast on Fox, making it the only motorsport series to have exclusive broadcast coverage in the US.

“This represents unrivaled exposure and provides an unparalleled growth opportunity for the most competitive and entertaining motorsport on the planet,” said IndyCar chief executive Mark Miles. “Fox Sports is a fully committed partner, ready to bring engaging and technically innovative coverage to millions of fans across the country while also promoting IndyCar thoroughly across all its platforms.”

All practice and qualifying sessions will be shown between FS1 and FS2, while the majority of Indy NXT races will air on FS1.

The series has also confirmed its 2025 schedule, which has no major changes to this year’s calendar. Of the minor shifts, Gateway moves earlier in the season, taking place on 15th June, and Laguna Seca receives a 27th July date.

BlackBook says…

This deal represents a big shift for IndyCar, having had a long and successful relationship with NBC.

Fox’s commitments with Nascar will reduce next season, notably losing the Coca-Cola 600 to Prime Video as part of the new media rights deal for the stock car racing series.

Notably, that race takes place on the same day as the Indianapolis 500, which Fox now has the exclusive rights to in addition to the Daytona 500 – an enviable combination.
