Ginetta launches GT academy series in France

Starting in 2024, series to be aligned with SRO’s French touring car series.

British motorsport brand Ginetta has launched a GT academy series in France.

Confirmed:

  • Ginetta GT Academy France will launch in 2024
  • The series is strategically aligned with SRO’s French touring car series

Context:

This will be run as an official series in collaboration with Team CMR, which will offer technical support to ensure a seamless and competitive racing experience. The alignment with the French Federation of Automobile Sport (FFSA) touring car series, run by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO), underlines Ginetta’s dedication to provide a clear pathway to young drivers in motorsport.

Comment:

Amy Tomlinson, managing director of Ginetta Cars, said: “Ginetta has a loyal customer base, and now with the creation of this new dedicated racing series in France, we will be able to provide French and European customers a new level of support and service as we begin to significantly expand our brand beyond the UK.

“Ginetta has manufactured over 100 G56 GTA cars since 2021, and the category has been hugely successful. It gives the driver all the feelings and balance of a modern-day GT racing car at a fraction of the price and is the perfect category to start your motor racing journey.”

Coming next:

The new series gets underway from 28th to 31st March in Nogaro, France, and comes to a close at the Circuit Paul Ricard from 4th to 6th October.
