Formula E has announced a new partnership with automotive safety supplier Autoliv.
Contract:
- Autoliv becomes Formula E’s official mobility safety partner
- Collaboration will promote the use of safety equipment and highlight technological advancements for racers and everyday drivers
Context:
The length of the partnership has not been officially disclosed, but the announcement states that the first year of the collaboration will focus on three core areas, which implies a multi-year deal.
The first of these three core areas will be increasing the usage and understanding of safety equipment, with messaging around using seatbelts, choosing vehicles equipped with advanced safety systems, and driving safely in every traffic situation. The other two areas of focus will be inspiring current and future talent, and promoting electrical car safety.
Comment:
“As we have some of the fastest and most advanced race cars in global motorsport going wheel to wheel on our circuits, safety is our number one priority,” said Tiziana Di Gioia, chief commercial officer of Formula E.
“This focus and attention to detail aligns perfectly with Autoliv’s own ethos and business strategy. Collectively, we won’t just promote vehicle safety to our current fan and consumer bases but look how we can continually develop and deploy cutting edge systems in both the motorsport and automotive industries.”
Coming next:
The partnership begins immediately and will feature several branding activations, including the Autoliv logo on the Formula E safety and medical car. Local activations at various racing locations are also planned.
