- FIA has collaborated with Siemens since 2022
- Siemens’ software portfolio has already shaped technical regulations in multiple series
The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has signed a multi-year deal with German technology conglomerate Siemens.
Siemens has signed on as the FIA’s official digital twin sponsor, a collaboration which will see the governing body expand its use of Siemens’ Xcelerator software portfolio to drive innovation in race car design while reducing the environmental impact of developing and testing prototypes.
The technology has been used by the FIA since 2022 to create detailed digital models of race cars and simulate their performance in a virtual environment, something that has shaped the technical regulations from Formula One to Formula Four.
Beyond aerodynamics, the FIA will also look to improve its product lifecycle management and work to create a fully integrated digital ecosystem to power future innovation across its championships.
