Zhou signs Dior ambassador deal, extends contract with HSBC China

Chinese driver set to enter sophomore season in F1.

Alfa Romeo Formula One driver Zhou Guanyu has signed an ambassadorial deal with Dior in China, in addition to extending his contract with the Chinese branch of HSBC.

Contract:

  • The 23-year-old will be a brand ambassador for Dior in his home country
  • Zhou also extends existing HSBC China deal for an additional year

Context:

Zhou Guanyu is China's first Formula One driver, and he signed his first major sponsorship deal in his home country last June with HSBC. Having now extended this deal, the Alfa Romeo driver has added French fashion house Dior to his portfolio.

Formula One returns on 5th March with the Bahrain Grand Prix, but there are currently no plans for a race in China after the race was cancelled due to the country's ongoing coronavirus restrictions. These restrictions have recently eased but, despite efforts from organisers to reinstate the Chinese Grand Prix for 2023, reports suggest Formula One has already agreed a replacement deal with Portugal.
