British F1 fans nearly twice as likely to be aware of sponsors compared to general population

Formula One fans from Britain are nearly twice as likely to be aware of sponsors operating in their chosen sport compared to the country’s general population, according to a study by YouGov.

Confirmed:

  • 43 per cent of Formula One fans take notice of the brands that sponsor the sporting events they watch
  • This compares to more than a third (34 per cent) of motorsport fans and 27 per cent of the general public
  • Formula One fans are also more likely to support their teams by buying products from sponsors (29 per cent) compared to the general public (17 per cent)
