- YoY audience increase of 66% after 2024 return of 905k viewers
- F1 averaging 1.31m viewers through 22 races, set for record season viewership in 2025
The Las Vegas Grand Prix averaged 1.5 million viewers on ESPN in the US, a record audience for the Formula One race.
This represents an audience jump of 66 per cent compared to last year’s return of 905,000 viewers. It also eclipses the viewership for the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023, which averaged 1.3 million viewers. Both previous races also aired on ESPN.
This year’s race started two hours earlier than previous editions of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, giving viewers on the East Coast a better chance to tune in at 11pm, compared to 1am in 2023 and 2024.
The average audience for the US-based races this season is 1.73 million viewers, which is lower than both the 2024 season (1.79 million) and the 2022 season (1.96 million). The average viewership for US races in 2023 was 1.48 million.
Formula One is now averaging 1.31 million viewers in the US through 22 races, which all but guarantees the 2025 season will have record viewership for the series in the country. The previous record was 1.19 million viewers in 2022.
It highlights that Formula One fans in the US are becoming more engaged with the full season, rather than just tuning in for domestic races. This trend is further supported by record average audiences this year for races in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
