The Cadillac Formula One team have agreed a partnership with industrial artificial intelligence (AI) software provider IFS.

Key details:

  • IFS will serve as Cadillac’s official technology partner having worked with the team since March 2024
  • IFS will support multiple areas of the team’s operations, including supply chain, production, and quality management
  • Company branding will feature across the team’s assets, including on the cars, the driver race suits, and team apparel

Context:

Commercially, Cadillac have had a quiet start to their life in Formula One. The team have agreed deals with Tommy Hilfiger and Jim Beam, but is yet to announce anything further. Cadillac are reportedly seeking up to US$70 million from a title partner, although new chief commercial officer Lauren Teixeira told BlackBook Motorsport at the Las Vegas Grand Prix that Cadillac are “not going to force anything” when it comes to a top-level deal.

This new collaboration with IFS, however, is focused firmly on ensuring Cadillac can become a competitive outfit as quickly as possible. The AI solutions provider will help Cadillac make decisions around car design and race operations – specifically, these capabilities streamline operations, reduce manual processes, and enable automation. This will all go towards enabling Cadillac to meet both the budget cap and the new technical regulations.

Comment:

“IFS has been instrumental in helping Cadillac Formula One Team launch the first new team in Formula One for over a decade,” said Graeme Lowdon, team principal of Cadillac.

“We decided to implement IFS early on in our journey – before we even bought coffee machines for the office. It’s helped us rapidly scale our operations by providing tools to establish best practices, manage complexity, and accelerate innovation.

“From supply chain to engineering, IFS software is helping us make smarter decisions so we can focus on what matters most: building a competitive car and delivering results on the track.”
