- Brivio had rumoured offer to return to MotoGP with Repsol Honda
- MotoGP team's boss Alberto Puig confirmed for 2024
David Brivio will depart the Alpine Formula One team at the end of 2023.
The Italian served three seasons with the Enstone-based outfit across various roles in the team.
He first joined as racing director for the 2021 season, having overseen Suzuki’s first MotoGP championship in 20 years in 2020.
However, Brivio was shifted out of a Formula One role in 2022, instead heading up the team’s young driver programme as director of racing expansion projects.
Despite his contract extending into next season, Brivio and Alpine have agreed to mutually part ways at the end of this year.

German publication Speedweek.com previously reported that the Italian has agreed a move back to MotoGP with Repsol Honda as part of Honda Racing Corporation’s (HRC) efforts to turn around the team’s fortunes.
The report indicated this would be in place of current team boss Alberto Puig, but the now-deleted article has been replaced with an update that the Spaniard will remain for 2024.
While Speedweek.com states that Brivio may still end up in MotoGP, Motorsport.com understands that he does not have an offer from Repsol Honda for 2024,
“It has been a proud chapter in my motorsport career to be involved in Formula One with Alpine,” Brivio said.
“I would like to thank Alpine for the opportunity to experience Formula One which was my desire and also for the chance to pass on some of my experience in motorsport onto its young drivers in the Alpine Academy.
“I wish the team and the Academy the best in the future and I'm sure we will see many young drivers go on to achieve fantastic things in their careers.
“To play a small part in some of that success will certainly be something I will cherish.
“I am grateful to Alpine for accommodating my wish to pursue other opportunities which may [and I hope that they will] arise in the future.”
This represents the latest in a long line of reshuffles at Alpine, with 2023 having heralded the end of Laurent Rossi’s time overseeing the Formula One operation as chief executive.
Meanwhile, team principal Otmar Szafnauer, sporting director Alan Permane, and chief technical officer Pat Fry all departed Alpine this season.
