Andretti Autosport rebrands as Andretti Global

US-based outfit is rumoured to be on the verge of entering F1.

US-based Andretti Autosport have rebranded as Andretti Global ahead of the 2024 season.

Confirmed:

  • Andretti operates in eight motorsport series racing across six continents
  • Current series include IndyCar, Formula E, Extreme E and IMSA
  • The team has ‘an appetite to expand its worldwide footprint into other major motorsports series’
  • Rebrand to bring a new structure to the team’s social media presence

Context:

The global repositioning of the team has clearly been done with Formula One in mind, despite the expected opposition from teams and Formula One itself if the International Automobile Federation (FIA) confirms their entry. Last summer, the team confirmed the construction of a US$200 million global headquarters in Fishers, Indiana, preempting this move to a more global operation.

Comment:

Michael Andretti, chairman and chief executive of Andretti Global, said: “I’m proud of what Andretti Autosport has accomplished over the years, and all the memories that have come with so many special moments. Just as proud as I am of our past, I’m equally excited about our future. As we continue to expand and build a global racing institution, our goal is to be engrained in the culture of our fans, teams and partners.

“This rebrand is a major milestone in our team’s journey, but we are only getting started. We are determined to achieve success and confident that there are big things in store for Andretti Global.”

Coming next:

The mention in the official statement of expanding into other major motorsport series is as subtle as Andretti can be ahead of their expected Formula One entry. Whether this proves successful is something else entirely, with Formula One chief executive Stefano Domenicali steadfast in his belief that the series should not expand beyond ten teams.
