Acumatica to sponsor Scott McLaughlin’s IMSA outing

Agreement also includes ambassador role for business solutions firm until 2025.

Business solutions provider Acumatica has agreed to sponsor Scott McLaughlin’s upcoming IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship outing.

Confirmed:

  • IndyCar driver to compete in Acumatica-branded entry from 11th to 14th October
  • Agreement covers personal services and ambassador role until 2025

Context:

This isn’t Acumatica’s first entry into motorsport, having agreed one-race sponsorship deals with Joe Gibbs Racing in Nascar and Paretta Autosport in IndyCar.

Comment:

McLaughlin said: “I am thrilled to partner with Acumatica, an innovative company that shares my passion for pushing boundaries and achieving greatness. Acumatica's cutting-edge technology and forward-thinking approach perfectly align with the fast-paced worlds of IMSA and IndyCar racing, positioning us as ideal partners on and off the track.”

Coming next:

A statement from Todd Wells, chief marketing officer for Acumatica, outlines that the company is looking forward to supporting the Kiwi “in his races throughout the next two years”, which suggests this deal may extend to include any racing that McLaughlin does outside of IndyCar. For example, he recently expressed interest in competing in the Turismo Carretera in Argentina via a Twitter conversation with fellow IndyCar driver Agustin Canapino.
