Formula One and MotoGP recorded strong weekend attendances at the Australian and Portuguese Grands Prix, respectively.
Confirmed:
- 452,055 spectators attend four-day race weekend at Albert Park, a new record
- Portimão attendance increases 41 per cent year-over-year (YoY) to 175,000
Context:
Australia has always proved to be a strong weekend for Formula One, with this latest record attendance around 7,000 higher than last year’s record-breaking weekend. It should be noted, though, that the circuit releases a four-day attendance figure, as opposed to the usual three days.
For MotoGP, this latest attendance jump is a sign of the rapid growth in the series over recent years. In 2022, Portimão only saw 75,900 attendees turn up. MotoGP has managed to attract nearly 100,000 fans to the race in just two years.
