WRC and World RX promoters receive FIA’s top environmental award

Three-star environmental accreditation sees promoters noted for best practice in communication.

WRC Promoter and Rallycross Promoter have been awarded three-star environmental accreditation from the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

  • Promoters noted for best practice in the field of communication
  • Also commended was the development of Beyond Rally as an umbrella platform for sustainability initiatives and biodiversity

WRC Promoter and Rallycross Promoter are the series promoters of the World Rally Championship (WRC) and World Rallycross (World RX), respectively. WRC was the first FIA world championship to mandate three-star environmental accreditation for event organisers back in 2016.

An FIA statement read: ‘Both promoters continue to work closely with their stakeholders to create more sustainable events. To assist with this, the promoters have introduced a Carbon Footprint Tool aimed at assisting rally and race organisers to measure their carbon impact, as well offering a sustainability support package with guidelines, templates and tools for event organisers.’

Coming next:

World RX is currently gearing up for its season finale in Hong Kong from 11th to 12th November, while WRC still has two rounds left of its 2023 season.
