The World Rally Championship (WRC) has revealed a new broadcast partnership with pay-TV network Sky Italia for the 2022 season.
As part of the agreement, Sky Italia will broadcast all 13 rounds live on its Sky Sport Action channel, beginning with the Ralley Monte-Carlo from 20th to 23rd January. The broadcaster will also air series highlights shows and magazine programming.
This deal was struck with WRC Promoter, which has controlled the commercial rights to the championship since January 2021.
The agreement adds the WRC to Sky Italia's motorsport offering, which includes Formula One, MotoGP, the European Rally Championship (ERC) and the World Rallycross Championship (World RX).
WRC Promoter has recently secured numerous partnerships with broadcasters globally, including extensions with BT Sport in the UK, Cosmote in Greece and Canal Plus in France. A new streaming deal was also secured with Stan Sport in Australia.
