World RX confirms Hong Kong for season finale

All-electric off-road racing series to visit Asia for first time.

The World Rallycross Championship (World RX) has confirmed Hong Kong will play host to the season finale.

Confirmed:

  • Hong Kong agrees to join the World RX calendar on a three-year deal
  • The race will be the first city centre event in the series' history

Context: In December last year, World RX announced a revamped calendar for 2023, which included visits to Africa and Asia. While South Africa was confirmed as the destination for the former, the prospective venue in Asia was unknown. With this announcement, the date of the season finale has also moved forward two weeks to 11th and 12th November, as the race was initially planned for the weekend of 25th/26th November.

Comment: Arne Dirks, managing director for Rallycross Promoter GmbH, said: “Just being here today, it is clear to see what a spectacular location we are in, and what a magnificent backdrop Victoria Harbour and the central business district will provide for our high-stakes season finale and first-ever city race.”

Coming next: The 2023 World RX season gets underway later this year in Portugal on 3rd and 4th June.
