Formula One team Williams Racing have extended their three-year collaboration with cybersecurity firm Acronis.

As part of the agreement, Acronis will protect Williams' IT infrastructure by implementing backup and anti-virus software whilst simplifying the system to make it more manageable for the team.

In return, Acronis will receive branding on Williams' FW43B challenger as well as throughout their garage, hospitality and on team wear and driver helmets for the duration of the 2021 season.

"Technical innovation is pivotal at Williams, and it is essential that we protect our data in the highly competitive environment that is Formula One," said Tim Hunt, Williams’ commercial and marketing director.

"Acronis has helped us protect our data with secure backup, disaster recovery, and file sync and share solutions."

The Williams renewal follows more than 15 deals signed between Acronis and properties across various sports, including W Series, the all-female motorsports championship, and Airspeeder, the all-new flying electric car racing series.

The highly anticipated 2021 Formula One season begins on 26th March at Bahrain International Circuit.
