WEC lands Avis Budget Group deal for 2023 season

Avis becomes endurance series' official vehicle rental services premium partner.

The World Endurance Championship (WEC) has partnered with Avis Budget Group for the 2023 season.

Contract:

  • Avis to be official vehicle rental services premium partner at all seven races
  • Electric vehicles to form core part of the fleet of vehicles on offer

Context: As the first major motorsport series to use 100 per cent sustainable fuels, Avis' electric and hybrid fleet will be promoted as an option for fans to travel sustainably to each WEC event, as well as to those involved in logistics for the series and the race teams.

Comment: Frédéric Lequien, chief executive of WEC, said: “We are delighted to welcome Avis to the FIA [International Automobile Federation] World Endurance Championship family. Avis is a trusted brand with a shared heritage of innovation and excellence in its delivery of mobility solutions and we look forward to a successful partnership in this exciting year for endurance motorsport.”
