Texas Motor Speedway to improve fan experience with TV upgrade

GoVision to upgrade Big Hoss TV ahead of Nascar playoffs.

Texas Motor Speedway is upgrading its Big Hoss TV screen in partnership with GoVision.

Confirmed:

  • ‘Multi-million dollar’ investment in technological upgrade
  • Upgraded screen will be ten per cent larger, have 22 per cent more pixels, 20 per cent higher resolution and be 16 per cent brighter

Context: When the Big Hoss TV screen was first installed in 2014, it was the world’s largest HD LED video board. It was originally installed by Texas-based GoVision, and the company will be looking to return the screen to a position among the biggest in the world with its new technology.

Comment: Mark Faber, executive vice president and general manager at Texas Motor Speedway, said: “Working again with a premier trusted organisation like GoVision is not only a great pleasure but also a continuation of Texas Motor Speedway’s long-standing goal of partnering with best-in-class Texas-based companies.

“GoVision has been a valuable partner over the years with both our speedway and Speedway Motorsports. We certainly appreciate their efforts in installing the new-and-improved Big Hoss TV screen in time for our Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 Nascar playoffs weekend.”

Consequence: This upgrade will be completed in time for Nascar to visit the circuit on 24th September for the fourth race of the playoffs. Texas Motor Speedway also plays host to the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series, as well as the PPG 375 in IndyCar.
