The Sauber Formula One team have signed a multi-year deal with online broker Libertex.
Contract:
- Libertex becomes the team’s official trading partner
- Deal will continue after transition to Audi in 2026
- Activations are planned at several races, including the Monaco Grand Prix
Context:
Ahead of their transition to Audi, the Sauber team are in a tough spot commercially. New deals have been hard to come by for the Swiss outfit amid poor on-track performance and companies waiting for Audi to have full branding control of the team. So far, a technical partnership with BP and Castrol is the only collaboration announced for 2026.
This is a rare multi-year deal that bridges the transition to Audi. The German auto manufacturer recently agreed a three-year deal to sponsor Sky Sports F1’s coverage in order to raise brand awareness, and it also has agreements in place with Legends and WWP Group to drive global commercial partnerships.
Sauber’s association with Stake probably isn’t helping matters either. The gambling company recently gave up its licence to operate in Great Britain following the launch of a UK Gambling Commission investigation into a social media video featuring an adult actress. The video, where the adult actress talked about having sex with “barely legal 18-year-olds” at Nottingham Trent University, displayed the Stake logo across the screen.
Comment:
Stefano Battiston, chief commercial officer of Sauber Motorsport, said: “We are delighted to welcome Libertex to our team: their reputation for innovation and excellence aligns perfectly with our values.
“In Formula One, success is built on precision, performance, and a relentless drive for progress – qualities that we see reflected in Libertex’s approach. This partnership is more than just a collaboration; it is a shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and the pursuit of greatness, both on and off the track.”
